While strolling through a rummage sale the other day, we came across a mirror that had clearly been left untaken care of for years. It was covered in dirt and dust, one could only just make out a reflection, yet it still held a strong, handsome shape and we saw its potential for a beautiful display piece. We cleaned and spruced it up, and with the right shade of Benjamin Moore paint it transformed in to a dazzling item that looked right at home at the beach house.

Its dark blue, retro, distressed look of the 90’s had become a bit too distressed over time, so we sanded the old paint off, smoothed the edges, and created a two-toned coat of Poolside Blue and Jamaican Aqua Benjamin Moore paint. We chose this color to give it a fresh, modern, hip makeover while maintaining its versatility. The final product looks so clean and fun compared to its original state that it is indeed worthy of the title- “Junk to Gem!”
